Azerbaijan raises passenger car import by 51%

According to sources from the State customs committee, the cost of imported passenger cars made $473,169,700.

At that, 34,866 passenger cars were registered on the basis of the cargo customs declaration and 28,076 cars by the customs receipt orders.

As compared to the same period of 2007, the number of passenger cars, imported to Azerbaijan, rose 51% or by 13,991 and their cost increased 52.4% or $162,800,000.

To compare, in January-September of 2008 Azerbaijan imported goods in the amount of $5,230,670. Thus, the share of the cost of imported passenger cars made 9% in the overall structure of import.
