Azerbaijani Emergency Ministry: "High rise buildings prohibited in Baku"

21 October 2008 [17:19] - TODAY.AZ
"Licenses on construction of high rise buildings have not been issued in Azerbaijani capital through the past two years. The currently erected high rise buildings are constructed on the basis of sanctions, issued in the past years, said Elkhan Asadov, deputy chief of the state agency for control over construction security under the Emergency Ministry.

"I think the center of the city will be dumped in the future".

He said construction companies commit such violations as non-observance of project documents, erection of additional floors, violation of red lines and others.

Asadov added that all these questions will be reflected in the general plan of Baku, developed under financial support of the World Bank.
