IMF says Azerbaijan leading on GDP among CIS states in 2008-2009

The International Monetary Fund has released the World Economic Outlook.
Day.Az reports with reference to IMF website that in line with the report, GDP growth rate in Azerbaijan will make 16% in 2008 and 16.4% in 2009.

This is the highest indicator among the CIS states. The GDP growth in Russia will make up 7 and 5.5% respectively, Ukraine 6.4% and 2.5%, Belarus 9.2% and 8%, Kazakhstan 4.5% and 5.3%, Turkmenistan 10.8% and 10.3%, Armenia 10 and 8%, Kyrgyzstan 7.5% and 6.7%, Tajikistan 6 and 7% and Uzbekistan 8 and 7.5%.

The economic stagnation is expected in Moldova: GDP growth rates for 2008-2009 will make up 6.5%. The lowest GDP growth rates are predicted in Georgia: 3.5 and 4%.
