Tatarstan's Prime Minister: "We want to develop cooperation with Azerbaijan in the economic and cultural fields"

A presentation of the economic potential of Tatarstan was held for the members of the Azerbaijani delegation in the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers Tuesday.
The delegation arrived in the country led by Prime Minister Artur Rasizade.

The presentation was held by Prime Minister of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

"Tatarstan and Azerbaijan have long maintained good and friendly relations. We want to develop cooperation in the economic and cultural fields. Such presentations allow to get to know each other and establish new ties", noted Minnikhanov.

He stressed similarity in the structures of the economies of Tatarstan and Azerbaijan.

In turn, Artur Rasizade thanked Tatarstan for cordial reception.

"We pay great attention to establishing ties with the Russian regions. We are especially happy with the achievements of your country", said Artur Rasizade.

He said Azerbaijan's economy is rapidly developing and GDP has doubled through four years.

The Azerbaijani Prime Minister announced that oil revenues go to the oil fund, which primarily finances the social sphere: all 12 refugee campuses were eliminated. 1200 new schools were built in the country in the past few years.

Tatarstan Economy Minister Marat Safiullin spoke of the priorities in the economic development of the country.

The second session of the joint intergovernmental commission on trade-economic, scientific-technical and cultural cooperation between Azerbaijan and Tatarstan will be held in the Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers in the framework of the two day visit of Azerbaijani delegation.
