Azerbaijan will bring the country’s roads in line with international standards within 2018-2020.
Javid Gurbanov, Chairman of Azeryolservis Company, told APA-Economics that there are more than 30 000 km roads in the country and a large amount of money and time is required for the reconstruction.
According to him, reconstruction and upgrading of highways will finish by 2013 and country’s roads will be almost in line with European standards by 2018-2020. He added that almost all of the under-construction bridges will be put into service this year (except one bridge near Azizbeyov Metro Station).
"In addition, a large number of footbridges and pedestrian subways will be built in Baku," he added.
