Head of Islamic Development Bank to visit Azerbaijan

The 33rd annual session of the Director's Board of the Islamic Development Bank was held in Jidda city (Saudi Arabia) on June 3-4.
The press service for the Azerbaijan Economic Development Ministry told Day.Az that our country was represented by Economic Development Minister Heydar Babayev.

The session participants heard reports of the organizations, joining the bank, defined directions of activity for the coming years. They also considered organizational issues. Citizen of Tajikistan Khamadan Taqaymurodov was elected chief executive of the bank on group D (including Middle Asia, Azerbaijan and Albania).

Moreover, it was decided to hold the 34th session of the bank in Turkmenistan (2009) and the 35th in Azerbaijan (2010).

In the framework of the visit Babayev met with president of the Islamic Development Bank Ahmed Muhammed Ali to discuss prospects of cooperation.

It should be noted that Ali plans to visit Baku on June 12. He is expected to attend the 1st investment conference, conducted by the Caspian International Investment Company.
