Khoshbakht Yusifzade: "Annual gas extraction to make 23 bln cubic meters per year in 2015"

The annual gas extraction in Azerbaijan will exceed 23 bln cubic meters of gas per year, said SOCAR vice president Khoshbakht Yusifzade at the international exhibit Caspian Oil and Gas.
He said inner demand of Azerbaijan by that period will make 12-13 bln cubic meters per year, which will turn the country into the gas exporter.

Yusifzade said this year Azerbaijan will extract 11 bln cubic meters of gas.

The SOCAR vice president announced that extractive gas reserves at the Shah Deniz gas condensate field make 1.2 tln cubic meters and 240 mln tons of condensate.

He said a number of fields in Azerbaijan, including Umid, Zafar-Mashal, Absheron and Nakhchivan account for 1.4 tln extractive gas reserves, in line with forecasts.

"These reserves will be confirmed by 2015 in the result of assessment drilling. The drilling expenses are said to make $2.7 bln", said Yusifzade.

The vice president also noted that the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli had produced 123 mln tons of oil and 26 bln cubic meters of gas since the moment of development.

"26 mln tons of profit oil were sold by Azerbaijan from its share of profit oil, in 2008 the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli field will produce 50 mln tons and by 2015 annual production will make 65-67 mln tons", announced he.
