Azerbaijan not in a hurry to sign quadripartite agreement on transit of Azerbaijani gas to Europe

04 June 2008 [14:47] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijan's Minister of Energy and Industry Natik Aliyev is to leave for Greece to hold talks regarding the quadripartite agreement on transit of Azerbaijani gas to Europe, said the Minister.
He said he will attend the conference of the Black Sea Economic Cooperation on issues of energy.

Azerbaijani side considers it not necessary to hurry to sign the said agreement as a number of moments in it should be clarified, including the transit agreement with Turkey. "Greece presented us a draft agreement between Azerbaijan, Turkey, Greece and Italy on supplies of natural gas.

"It is senseless to construct pipelines for Azerbaijan. We may undertake commitments in the framework of certain agreements, but this is not urgent today", said Aliyev.
