Peter Semneby: "European Union will assist in expansion of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan"

He noted that this issue was also discussed during the meeting with officials.

"The European Union speaks for long-term and stable relations with Azerbaijan, which requires balanced relations on the basis of values. On the one side commercial interests and the on the other side there should be relations on the basis of values", said he.

Semneby announced that he met with the Turkmen ambassador to Azerbaijan in Baku.

"Relations between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan are important for the European Union. The cooperation should be based on the neighbor relations. From now on I will work in close cooperation with EU special representative on Central Asia Mr. Morel to expand cooperation between the two countries", said Semneby.
