Azerbaijan's Finance Minister: "Azerbaijan’s state budget revenues envision $70 per oil barrel"

10 May 2008 [09:10] - TODAY.AZ
Azerbaijan’s state budget revenue envisions a forecast oil price of $70 per barrel after the 2008 state budget re-adjustment, said Azerbaijan’s Minister of Finance Samir Sharifov.
"Prior to it, we had taken a more conservative approach that posed the risk of covering additional costs," he added.

According to him, the government should not review the budget forecast price of oil as frequently as oil prices are increasing.

"Revenues from increasing oil prices come to the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ)," he added.

He also said that there will be a rise in assistance to farmers.

"We are analyzing the effectiveness of loans extended to farmers last year. Depending on the results, the government subsidies may be increased," he noted.
