Fatoghlu Company, one of Azerbaijan’s largest flour markers, shut down from May 1, the company’s chief accountant Ilham Khalilov told APA Bureau.
He said suspension of wheat importation from Kazakhstan made the company shut down.
The shutdown caused a shortage of bread in some regions.
He added that negotiations with other producers, principally Russian companies are under way.
The company plans to resume operation in ten days if negotiations are successful.
Bread loaf prices have recently increased in most regions of Azerbaijan.
Some shops say they don’t have any bread left.
