Iqbal Aghazade: "According to the data, provided by the government, Azerbaijan should have been a grain exporter"

The due announcement was made by parliamentarian Jamil Hasanly, discussing alterations to the state budget of Azerbaijan.

At the same time he voiced dissatisfaction with the low wages of the members of the National Academy of Science.

"If the government consider these wages enough, give a recipe of how to survive with such salaries under the currently high inflation rate", said Hasanly.

Deputy Vahid Ahmedov voiced anxiety regarding the external debt of the country.

He noted that currently the external debt of the country makes up $2.5 bln and internal $293 mln.

He said the government should gradually repay the external debt.

"Real anxiety is caused by credits raised under state guarantee. Currently, large banks are functioning in Azerbaijan. We can raise credits from them. The rise in external debt is unacceptable. This may deteriorate the situation for future generations", said he.

Deputy Iqbal Aghazade touched upon the rise in prices in the country. He noted that the rise in prices on bread and agitation connected with it, makes the society anxious.

At the same time, the deputy expressed doubts regarding the statistics, provided by the government as to the support of agriculture.

The deputy noted commenting on the statistics, provided by the government, that aid in the amount of AZN 40 has been offered for each hectare of sown area, and AZN 68.9 mln was allocated for these purposes. He said it turns out that the sown area should have made up 1,722,500 hectares.

"The government, which presents such figures, states the crisis of grain. According to the state statistical committee, the productivity of each hectare makes up 27.1 centners.

Considering the indicators, the country should have grown 4 mln tons of grain, which will not only ensure the inner need of the country but also turn it into the grain exporter. Where are the finances, allocated to agriculture and where are those, for whom this aid has been allocated?", said he.
