The volume of external trade turnover between Georgia and Azerbaijan rose by 76.2% as compared to the same period of the last year and made up $173,100,000 in the first quarter of 2008.
The due announcement was made by a source from the Statistics Department of the Georgian Ministry of Economic Development.
Azerbaijan's share in the overall volume of external trade turnover of Georgia has risen by 2.2% from 7.7% to 9.9%. The rise in export to Azerbaijan made up $17,000,000.
The main items of export of Georgian goods to Azerbaijan were cars ($13,800,000) and cement ($12,900,000).
Import to Azerbaijan rose by $57,800,000 and reached $134,100,000, which is 75.8% higher as compared to the same period of the last year.
