01 May 2008 [11:24] - TODAY.AZ
The retail price of bread has risen in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku.
Day.Az reports the rise in prices on bread by 10 qepiks (over 10 cents) in some Baku shops this morning.

Thus, bread, which was previously sold for 30 qepiks is currently sold for 40 qepiks. The weight of such a loaf is 650 grams.

Shop assistants explain this rise by the rise in the prices on flour.

It should be noted that the Kazakh government has recently decided to ban export of wheat, without restriction of export of flour, until September 1 of 2008.
