Heydar Babayev discusses supplies of Azerbaijani gas to Europe with Matthew Bryza

Minister H.Babayev informed the US diplomat about the economic development of the country, construction of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan, Baku-Tbilisi-Erzirum pipelines, Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railroad and forecasts for 2008, the announcement of the Ministry says.

He also announced that Azerbaijan has signed memorandums on export of oil and gas with Greece and Italy, which is important for export of energy sources from the Azerbaijani shelf of the Caspian Sea to Europe.

Speaking about bilateral relations, H.Babayev stressed participation of a number of US companies in the implementation of different energy projects in Azerbaijan.

The sides also discussed Azerbaijan's accession to the World Trade Organization.

M.Bryza stressed US financing of programs of assistance to Azerbaijan's participation in the WTO ($1,700,000).
