Employers to be fined for illegal hiring of foreigners in Azerbaijan

Nabi Shukurlu, Chairman of the State Labor Inspection Department of the Labor and Social Protection Ministry of Azerbaijan, said penalty for employers will be toughened for illegal hiring of foreigners and stateless persons without individual permission for work.

The penalty will be AZN 550-1,100 for not opening work record card, AZN 3,300-5,500 for hiring without employment contracts and legal bodies will be fined AZN 22,000-27,500 for hiring without employment contract.

Employers will also be fined with AZN 1,100-2,200 for violation of labor safety.

He added that 3,487 employers have been imposed a fine of AZN 284,200 and conclusion of 8,530 employment agreements were enforced during raids in 2007.
