Binagadi residents to be removed due to construction of new metro station

Representatives of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs and Baku Underground along with the police visited the area belonging to Baku Underground situated on the crossroad of 7th and 8th micro districts in Binagadi.

The representatives of the state bodies warned the IDPs settled there in connection with the construction of new metro station and registered them. There was a confrontation between the police and the IDPs. As a result of it, Rovshan Babayev and Behruz Mammadov were detained and released after two hours.

IDP Mukhtar Aliyev told the APA that they have been living there for 14 years. The representatives told them that they will be removed after the registration.

"They promised to provide us with area in the settlement of Rasulzade – Baksol," he said.

Aziz Mammadov, chief of the department on refugees and IDPs of Binagadi told the APA that the registration will finish in two days, and the residents will be removed within a month.

40 families from seven occupied regions have settled without registration there.
