Baku hosts international conference on Azerbaijan's WTO membership

The conference covered discussion on measures for Azerbaijan's WTO membership, technical obstacles in trade and ways of eliminating them, standardization and assessment of adaptation system, improvement of legislation basis, implementation of international standards and some other issues.

Chairman of Global Economic Researches Center Novruz Guliyev said some measures have been taken due to the requirements of the organization for Azerbaijan's membership. Thus, Azerbaijan is to pass 13 stages for WTO membership. Our country is already in 7th stage.

Guliyev said that though Azerbaijan makes successes in these stages, but some problems still remain.

The representatives of Azerbaijan's Foreign, Economic Development Ministries and some other governmental institutions and NGOs attended the conference and spoke about taken measures in this sphere, APA-Economics reports.
