Industry and Energy Ministry officer Azer Mansimli told that the meeting brought together Azerbaijan’s Minister Natig Aliyev, Georgia's Industry and natural resources Minister Nika Gilauri, Kazakhstan's Industry and Energy Ministry's Gas Department Chairman Anarbek Tulanbekov and representatives from the European Union.
The meeting discussed issues on reconstruction of gas and electricity networks between Azerbaijan and Georgia, construction of two new gasholders and compressor stations in Azerbaijan, shipping of Turkmenistan's liquefied gas by tankers to Baku via Kazakhstan, efficiency of the Trans-Caspian gas project, gas reserves and economic assessment of gas delivery to Europe.
The meeting focused on the Trans-Caspian project and its prospects to deliver natural gas via Azerbaijan to Georgia and onward to Europe by subsea or other means with involvement of Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan and even Uzbekistan.
The EU representatives expressed interest to finance the project and to use all potentials to give financial support for implementation of the efficient project, APA reports.
