Azerkimya to be on stream in a few days

14 March 2007 [17:48] - TODAY.AZ
The subsidiaries of Azerkimya state-owned chemicals maker will be brought on stream in a few days, Member of Parliament Ikram Israfilov told.

Saying he spoke with the head of the company Suleyman Vazirov, the lawmaker added that the all subsidiaries are ready after a long-stop.

He said the Cabinet made a decision March 13 to resume the enterprise and remove all the problems, APA reports.

According to the decision, Azerkimya will pay for electricity at the before-the-energy-price-rise price, its debts to Azerenergy will be written off and bank accounts will be activated. Azerkimya will soon pay the salary of the employees.

On January 25, Azerkimya and its all subsidiaries shut down indefinitely because of the high energy prices in the country, saying it sold its products under the terms of agreements concluded before the price jump and all the products became "loss leaders" after the energy prices increase effective from January.
