Water supply and sewerage system of Ganja and Sheki to be reconstructed

The water supply and sewerage system of Ganja and Sheki will be reconstructed in the framework of the project supported by German and Swiss governments in conjunction with Azerbaijan's government.

Ganja Su-Kanal Subsidiary company chief Teyyub Jafarov told the APA's western bureau German specialists provided training in Baku in the framework of the project. Totally 36 men attend the training, three of them are from Ganja. Jafarov said that the training is aimed to get acquainted with modern German technology. The seminar will be conducted in three tours. The next tour will be held on April 23. 12 of 36 participants will be elected in the second tour. The last tour will be organized in Georgia and eight participants will be sent to Germany.
The process will begin in April-May.

He said that the process will begin after the tender announced. EUR54.9m has allocated to the project.

According to the agreement German government allocated EUR27m, Swiss government EUR4m to the implementation of the project. The rest sum will be allocated by the Azerbaijan International Bank. The reconstruction of Ganja water supply and sewerage system will cost EUR36m.
