Russian, Ukrainian companies interested in reconstruction of Sumgait Superphosphate Plant

Sumgait Executive Committee Chairman Vagif Aliyev told APA that a development program has been developed to reconstruct the plant.

"Reconstruction works require $100mln in investment. The plant needs new technology. Russian and Ukrainian companies show interest in bringing new technology. Azerbaijan's annual need for fertilizer is estimated to be 250,000 tons while the plant had previously produced 1.2mln tons of phosphate fertilizer a year," he said.
