Barmek officers deny charges in the trial

Grave Crimes Court today started a hearing of former six officers of Barmek-Azerbaijan Electricity Distribution LLC.

Prosecutor brought indictment against Barmek officers-Asif Alekberov, Firudin Aghayev, Elnur Mutallibov, Ahliman Mahmudov for not registering 3 320 000 KW/h energy given to Baku Steel Foundry in 2005. They were accused on Criminal Code 314.2 article, APA reports.

Ramazan Alesgerov and Rahib Musayev wre accused on Criminal Code 179.3.2 and 308.1 articles. The differences between exported and imported energy was not recorded in the reports. 3mn 199 000 KW/h energy was misused in 2006.

The defendants did not find them guilty and said Interior Ministry Department fight against Criminality officers were aware of breaking the meter seal in Binegedi high-voltage substation #89. They also said this meter does not apply to "Azerenerji".

Elnur Mutallibov said it is electronic meter and it is possible to analyze the time of error in the meter. But the meter was not analyzed during the investigation.

The defendants said it is impossible to use the mentioned volume of energy, because the foundry was working with intervals. The trial will continue with witnesses' testimonies.
