11 August 2006 [14:17] - TODAY.AZ
Khachmaz faced bread shortage for few hours on August 9. There was a pause in bakeries because of natural gas supply cut off.

Though the problem was partially solved there was deep dissatisfaction among the people. APA reports the region population blame Azerigas CJSC for the situation.

The region Gas Supply Office director Boyukagha Gurbanov told the APA the reason for bread shortage was the hearsay spread among people.

"Khachmaz bakeries work both with gas and electricity. So, there cannot be bread shortage.

"The population do not pay gas bees. 2,500 of 9,000 customers have not paid gas bills. That was why, Azerigas cut off gas supply. Even those, who paid the bill, still suffer gas supply cut off," he said.

Azerigas CJSC cut off the gas supply in Devechi too. The exact time of restoration of gas supply has not yet been specified.
