Working Group on Kars-Akhalkalaki-Tbilisi-Baku railway will meet in Tbilisi

Georgia side presented no confirmed document on Kars-Akhalkalaki-Tbilisi-Baku railway.

"On behest of the President, Azerbaijani Prime Minister Artur Rasizade is negotiating with Georgian Economic Development Minister on construction of the railway and they will probably come to agreement," Azerbaijani Transportation Minister Ziya Mammadov told journalists.

He said that this issue was also discussed at the meeting of intergovernmental commission during Georgian Prime Minister Zurab Nogaydeli's visit to Baku, APA informs.

Negotiations have also been conducted with Turkey and it was decided to hold a meeting of working group in Tbilisi on July 13-15.

"Georgian side stated that some issues were not included in the project. Kazakh Transport ministry sent an invitation and Azerbaijani, Georgian, Turkish and Chinese Transport Ministers will meet in Astana on July 27. This issue will also be discussed at this meeting. China and Kazakhstan also take interest in the project."

Technical-economic estimate of the project were implemented by Turkey and Azerbaijan agreed with them. Georgia is dissatisfied with communication issues.

"They put forward their suggestion. However, their suggestion doesn't cost much.
In general, technical estimate of the project is $400 000."
