Garib Mammadov: "Executive authorities and municipalities sell lands illegally"

14 June 2006 [08:05] - TODAY.AZ
About 1800 illegal land areas sales were detected last year. 350 of them were fined and 97 were given to law enforcement bodies to deal with.

Garib Mammadov, the Head of the State Committee for Lands and Cartography, has told reporters about. He has stated that executive authorities and municipalities are engaged in illegal sales of land areas.

"Executive authorities and municipalities handle land areas without any auction and competition. State Committee for Lands and Cartography do not register such land areas. Consequently, problems like tax abatement, disagreements and violation of citizens’ rights occur."

Mr. Mammadov blamed either body for not making general plans of dwelling places. The Head of the Committee supported his idea on that the absence of general plans does not fit either body.
