09 June 2006 [15:50] - TODAY.AZ
Dubai's experience will be used to establish a free trade zone in Azerbaijan. Relevant documents have been submitted to the president, according to the Economic Development Minister Heydar Babayev.

A similar area set up in Dubai turned out to be successful, Babayev told a press conference on Thursday. He said representatives of the company to implement the project are expected to visit Azerbaijan in the second half of June. The parties will sign an agreement to carry out the work, the minister said. He noted that a large port is to be built in the free trade zone, AssA-Irada reports.

As for establishing an industrial township in the country, Babayev said the Entrepreneurial Development Department is preparing a relevant concept that will be submitted to the head of state for approval soon.
