Azerenergy Vice President Marlen Askerov confirmed that Turkey has already repeatedly addressed to the company: "We do not possess necessary funds to pay the debt. Lack of a second line excludes possibility of debt payment in the form of electrical energy."
Azerbaijan has been purchasing electrical energy by Turkey since 1990. At present, debt for the supplied recourse totals about $55 million.
