Arif Veliyev: "Inflation will not exceed 9.6% this year"

This statement was made by the Chair of the State Statistics Committee Arif Veliyev in a press-conference held yesterday, APA reports.

According to Mr.Veliyev, as wages increase in the republic, occurrence of inflation should be treated normal. The Chair of the Committee said that as in October-November of 2004, no high price advance was expected to take place this year.

In general, in March of this year prices of consumption goods and tariff of services become expensive by 1.3%, prices of foodstuffs by 1.9%, prices of non-food products by 0.1% and service tariffs by 1.1% in comparison with February.

As a result, in comparison with 1st quarter of 2005 prices of consumption goods and tariffs of services became expensive by 5.5%, prices of foodstuffs by 6.4%, prices of non-food products by 4.6%, and service tariffs by 3.9%.
