14 September 2005 [09:06] - TODAY.AZ
The American McDermott launched construction this week of the underwater pipeline in the framework of the «Stage-1» of the project on development of the gas condensate deposit «Shakh- Deniz” in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. McDermott (a BP contractor) started constructing the pipeline for pumping the gas condensate from “Shakh-Deniz”.
The British-American BP, the project operator provided Trend with this information.

BP said McDermott commenced construction works on the shore, close to the Sangachal terminal, where gas and condensate from the TRG-500 platform, mounted on “Shakh-Deniz” will come.

The pipeline’s length for the condensate pumping is 91 km. Its diameter is 12 inches. The same length will have the 26-inch gas pipeline and the 4-inch pipeline for pumping of mono-ethylenglycol.

Production of the first gas from “Shakh-Deniz” is scheduled for autumn 2006. The gas will come through the SCP (the South Caucasus Pipeline), the condensate will be pumped together with the oil of the Azeri Light brand through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipeline. The “Shakh-Deniz” partners plan to produce per 45,000 barrels (over 2 million tons) a day of the gas condensate and about 8,5 billion cubic meters gas from the TPG-500 platform. Such volume of the condensate will be produced with all production wells on TRG-500 operational.
