Types of taxes in Azerbaijan decreased from 14 to 9

The Taxes Ministry told Trend the types of taxes were decreased from 14 to 9, while income taxes were cut 8%, VAT - 2%, maximal level of other taxes fell 10%.

Tax policy is used for the development of regional policy. Acrting as major income source the taxes also mirror major economic development of the country. Tax remittances grew 14.1-14.2% a year. Last the forecast remittances to the public budget were over-fulfilled 2.6% and 5,026bn manats were transferred.

One of the major lines of tax reforms is the establishment of a service center for taxpayers. The key attention was directed at improvement of information provision of taxpayers.

At present the Ministry of Taxes targets transiting voluntary payment of taxes and definite results have been achieved in this field. Over the last campaign 70% of taxpayers timely presented their tax declarations.
