UAE to assist Azerbaijan in opening trading house

"The United Arab Emirates will assist Azerbaijan in opening a trading house in the country," said Minister of Economy of the UAE Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri as he met with his Azerbaijani counterpart Shahin Mustafayev on the sidelines of the 6th session of the joint intergovernmental commission on economic, trade and technical cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates.


Al Mansouri noted that his country attaches special importance to cooperation with Azerbaijan. He noted that the UAE's position on the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict remains unchanged, adding that the UAE supports and will continue to support Azerbaijan's territorial integrity.


Minister Mustafayev hailed the excellent Azerbaijan-UAE political relations, saying they are based on the principles of friendship and mutual respect. He noted that the political will of the two countries' heads of state plays an important role in the development of bilateral cooperation. The minister noted the importance of reciprocal high-level visits in terms of expanding bilateral ties between the two countries, hailing relations in a number of areas, including agriculture, ICT, energy, trade, investment and education. Minister Mustafayev hailed great potential for developing bilateral cooperation.


The meeting then featured the signing of a protocol on the results of the 6th session of the joint intergovernmental commission on economic, trade and technical cooperation between Azerbaijan and the United Arab Emirates. The document was signed by co-chairs of the intergovernmental commission, Azerbaijani Economy Minister Shahin Mustafayev and the UAE's Economy Minister Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri. The protocol envisages boosting cooperation between the two countries in a number of areas, including industry, energy, renewable energy, agriculture, communications and high-tech, transport, trade, investment, environment, tourism and culture.
