SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) is the largest foreign investor in Turkey, head of SOCAR Turkey Enerji, and a board member of Petrochemical Holding Petkim Kenan Yavuz said at a press conference in Baku.
According to him, the amount of investment that the State Oil Company will invest in projects in Turkey (along with the Trans-Anatolian gas pipeline project) will amount to $17 billion.
He also said the company is implementing major projects in Turkey. In particular, a contract was signed in May with the tender winner for the construction of a new refinery in Turkey.
Construction of the plant should be completed within 50 months. Also, construction of a new port near the petrochemical complex Petkim has started and is expected to be completed within 24 months.
