Mobile Devices Registration System (MDRS) to be implemented by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies of Azerbaijan will start operation from May 1.
The Ministry told that new system was established at the Information Calculation Center. The information on international IMEI-codes of mobile devices is daily sent to the central base system by mobile operators. After full collection of information, inspections over them and analyses of the network is completed, the MDRS will start to operate with full capacity from May 1.
The whole IMEI-codes of mobile devices used in the network until the launch date will be considered registered and no problem will be created for their operation.
After the launch of MDRS, IMEI-codes of all mobile devices that were brought to the country from abroad must be registered in the system within 30 days after its use.
Russia also plans to apply MDRS due to the fact that mobile devices are considered the most valuable things in street crimes.
