AZAL to substitute ATR aircraft with SA aircraft

Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL), the country's national airline has sold three of its six ATR aircraft, AZAL told Trend today.

The company began receiving ATR aircraft in 2007.

AZAL has not specified a price and a buyer.

Currently, the company has been acquiring Embraer SA aircraft.

Earlier, the company ordered four new E-190 aircraft from Brazilian Embraer SA.

The total order value is $180.8 million.

The company also plans to lease two used Embraer E-170 aircraft.

Azerbaijan expects to receive delivery of the Embraer aircraft in the second half of the year.

These will be used on domestic and medium distance international flights.
