'Relations with Azerbaijan are strategic for Georgia'

Relations with Azerbaijan are strategic for Georgia and no one is going to sacrifice them, Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili said at a briefing in Tbilisi on Monday.

"We stand for the deepening of our cooperation and this will be discussed during my visit to Baku on Dec.26," Ivanishvili said.

Ivanishvili also expressed his gratitude to Azerbaijan for gas supplies at a low price.

"We are grateful to Azerbaijan for the fact that our neighbour supplies gas to us at a very good price," he said.

He also stressed that the reduction of the gas tariff in Georgia is impossible and negotiations will be held on the 'symbolic' reduction of gas prices.
