According to Azerbaijani experts, relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are dynamic and stable.
"In recent 20 years, relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan are characterised with dynamism, stable cooperation, participation in associated projects, politic and economic as well as cultural and humanitarian", Azerbaijani expert and political scientist Fikret Sadikhov said at the forum dedicated to 20 years of establishment of relations between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan on Thursday.
He noted, that the two countries have common positions on a number of international issues and in particular, on the Middle East, especially Syria, Egypt and Iraq.
Sadikhov stressed Kazakhstan's efforts in the settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict during its chairmanship of the OSCE in 2010.
"Kazakhstan was objective, fair and acted in accordance of international law standards in settlement of the conflict", Sadikov stated.
The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian armed forces have occupied 20 per cent of Azerbaijan since 1992, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts.
Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, France and the U.S. - are currently holding peace negotiations.
Armenia has not yet implemented the U.N. Security Council's four resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions.
The experts have also spoken on construction of Trans Caspian pipeline, hoping the issue will be settled as soon as possible.
The ecological situation in the Caspian pool and Iran's statements on Kazakhstan and Azerbaijan's pollution of Caspian Sea were also discussed at the forum.
According to Azerbaijani ecology scientist Telman Zeynalov, on the contrary, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, are taking measures to protect ecological system of Caspian Sea. Action is taken particularly for the protection of seal rockeries and sturgeon breeding.
