The Palmali Group won the tender for the construction of three vessels for ensuring the security of the offshore structures of the Filanovsky field for Lukoil, Palmali said on Tuesday.
Two vessels are required to provide year-round maintenance of drilling wells, to participate in pre-commissioning and field commissioning for transporting cargo on maritime facilities and removal of waste products, drilling fluids and water.
Vessels are also designed for continuous year round readiness for rescue alert and fight any spillage in the offshore field facilities.
The Filanovsky field is located in the Russian sector of the northern Caspian Sea, in the shallow part of about 170 kilometres south of Astrakhan. Prior to commissioning the infrastructure development facilities of the field, an ice-resistant fixed platform LSP-1, an accommodation module PZHM-1, a central processing platform (CTP) and riser block (RB), these vessels will be involved in marine operations in the period between the spring of 2014 to the autumn of 2015, and in the winter period will provide duties directing ice ships to offshore facilities.
With field commissioning taking place 2015-2016, these vessels will continuously implement core functions throughout the life of Filanovsky field, the report said.
