Volume of Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan trade turnover ups

Trade and economic cooperation between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan has great prospects, Turkmen ambassador Toyli Komekov said Wednesday at a press conference. The ambassador noted the volume of trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Turkmenistan increases year after year, and this is an indicator of close economic cooperation.

Komekov said the 3rd meeting of Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation will be held on October 4 in Ashgabat. According to him, the Intergovernmental Commission is one of important mechanisms for deepening partnership.
The diplomat noted relations between Azerbaijani and Turkmen peoples had old history. “We are bound together by rich spiritual values, hospitality, tolerance and vigorous efforts for the welfare of our peoples.”

The ambassador said Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan, which both sit at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, had fruitful cooperation in political, economic, humanitarian and social spheres, as well as within international organizations.

The diplomat also said Azerbaijan-Turkmenistan partnership was based on mutual respect and understanding.
