Azerbaijani delegation participated in the 11th meeting of railway officials of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) in Ankara. The participants stressed great importance of Baku-Tbilisi-Kars project in transport system of the region and Eurasia.
Railway officials from Azerbaijan, Turkey, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iran, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan and representatives of the United Nations and the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) discussed prospects of cooperation.
The Azeri delegation said works on implementation of the Kars-Dilucu 224 km railway project, which will connect Nakhchivan region of Azerbaijan are underway. Eco`s Deputy Secretary General Altaf Asgar spoke about joint railway land projects.
