Azerbaijan, Qatar boost coop in ICT sphere

The delegation led by the Secretary General of the Supreme Council of Information and Communication Technology of QATAR Hessa Al Jaber paid visit to Azerbaijan’s Ministry of Communications and IT.

Delivering a speech at the meeting, Azerbaijan’s Minister of Communications and IT Ali Abbasov expressed that the relations between the two countries developed within the past years: ‘The development of cooperation between Azerbaijan and Qatar in ICT sphere will extend these relations’.

The meeting discussed the main directions of cooperation in ICT sphere between Azerbaijan and Qatar. It was noted that the two countries could collaborate together in establishment of broadband network, in cosmic industry and foreign markets.

‘Soon, both countries will launch their first satellites into the orbit and I think that afterwards, the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Qatar in this sphere is very important’, added Abbasov.

The minister also stressed that companies of both countries engaged in ICT sphere can participate in the newly-established markets in Africa and Asia.

In turn, Hessa Al Jaber said that Qatar was interested in cooperation with Azerbaijan in ICT sphere and the two countries can realize joint projects. These projects will extend the existing relations between Azerbaijan and Qatar.

Note that, within the framework of the visit of Qatar’s delegation to Azerbaijan it is expected to sing a memorandum of understanding on ICT sphere.
