Azerbaijan announces new tender

Azerbaijan's water operator JSC Azersu announced a tender to purchase work on the reconstruction of the water supply and sanitation system in the city of Barda (260 km from Baku), the company said on Friday.

It is envisaged there will be a water receiving installation constructed along with a water supply system, water reservoirs and a water distribution network the length of 105 kilometres, as well as a fire hydrant to improve the water supply system of the Barda region. It is envisaged there will a construction of the sewer system and main sewer extension with length of 97 kilometres, micro-tunnels, office buildings, a warehouse, garage and workshop to restore sewerage system of Barda.

The tender is announced as part of the project 'Water supply and sewage in small towns', funded by the Japan International Cooperation Agency and the Government of Azerbaijan.

The tender participation fee is 150 manat, or $200.

To participate in the tender the relevant documents must be submitted to Azersu at the address: Baku City, Moscow Avenue, 67 until Aug.6, 2012.

The project 'Water supply and sanitation in small towns' envisages the reconstruction of water supply and sewage in 10 cities and towns of Azerbaijan (Salyan, Shirvan, Neftchala, Barda, Khachmaz, Yevlakh, Naftalan, Khizi, Gusar and Gobustan).

Under a credit agreement signed on May 29, 2009, the Japanese side will allocate 38 billion yen ($ 400 million) to conduct the work.
