
The Azerbaijani State Customs Committee (SCC) announced results of foreign trade operations with 133 countries in Jan.-May 2012, the State Committee told Trend on Saturday.
The country's total trade turnover amounted to $14.41 billion, or 2.54 percent more compared to the same period of 2011.
Black ink worth $7.06 billion was formed in foreign-trade operations.
During this period 5,552 legal and physical entities were involved in the foreign-trade operations, 2,869 of them were legal entities, while 2,683 physical entities.
Export operations amounted to $10.735 billion for the first five months of 2012 or 1.43 percent more compared to the same period of 2011.
Share of public sector in export amounted to $10.207 billion (95.08 percent), private sector - $489 million (4.55 percent), share of physical entities - $38.37 million (0.35 percent).
As of the first five months, import hit $3.375 million or 5.92 percent more compared to the same period of 2011.
Share of public sector in import operations amounted to $771.8 million (21 percent), private sector - $2.71 billion (73.84 percent), physical entities - $190.38 million (5.18 percent).
Azerbaijan exported 1,414 types of commodities and imported 5,403 types in Jan.-May.
