The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway project is a very important project, which will give impetus to the development of the entire region, Turkish Deputy Prime Minister Bulent Arinc said at a press-conference with Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri, TRT Haber TV channel said.
"Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia have implemented a number of strategic projects," Arinc said. "The Baku-Tbilisi-Kars, which will connect Asia with Europe should be stressed among them."
He also stressed that according to the latest data, the trade turnover between Turkey and Georgia totaled $ 1.5 billion. This testifies to the developed economic relations between the two countries.
Arinc said that Turkey always supports Georgia's territorial integrity and considers Tbilisi as an important strategic partner. He also urged Georgian investors to actively participate in the Turkish market.
