SOCAR not to purchase gas stations network in Turkey

At present, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) considers purchasing a network of gas stations in Turkey, SOCAR President Rovnag Abdullayev told journalists on Thursday commenting on possibility of acquiring BP's gas stations network in Turkey.

He said by commissioning SOCAR's oil refinery in Turkey, it will be the possible to sell oil products both on this country's market, and in some neighboring countries, in which SOCAR has assets.

Commissioning of the new oil refinery is scheduled for 2014.

"At present, the issue of acquiring assets on retail sale of oil products in Turkey is not included in the agenda, but this issue can be considered in perspective," Abdullayev said.
