No license needed for 4G deployment in Azerbaijan

The deployment of data transfer services using 4G standard Long Term Evolution (LTE) does not require licensing, head of the regulation department of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and Information Technologies Aliyar Tamirov said at a press conference 4G network in Baku on Thursday.

Internet services are not licensed in Azerbaijan. This does not mean that this procedure is not regulated. However, the procedure cannot be called a licensing process. It is a procedure to obtain a permit from the Ministry, as well as in public administration on radio frequencies.

Azerbaijani mobile operator Azercell Telekom announced the deployment of the 4G network Long Term Evolution (LTE) in Baku.

Up till now, the fourth generation network covered only the territory of Baku. Some Hot-Spot stations are used in the Seaside National Park. They will ensure 4G communication. The matter rests in the date transmission services. DATA-cards supporting LTE standard that are being offered to users.

Azercell Telekom head Ali Agan said that 4G modems will go on sale from June 18 and Baku will be fully covered during the year.

4G includes the technologies that allow transferring data to users in mobile networks at speeds above 100 Mbit / s and to stationary ones - 1 Gbit / s that is 10 times more than in 3G networks.

The advantage of a fourth generation network is its high speed internet access and the ability to exchange three-dimensional content and viewing HD content.

The cost of the USB modem supporting 4G standard will be 149 manat. A monthly fee for unlimited use of the Internet is 45 manat with the first month being free.
