Online tax payment will be possible in Azerbaijan

The trade and monetary turnover of entrepreneurs in the non-oil sector in Azerbaijan has increased by 13.2 percent, or 488 million manat during the first quarter.

Azerbaijani Tax Minister Fazil Mammadov made the statement addressing a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers on the results of the socio-economic development in the first quarter 2012 and the upcoming challenges, chaired by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

"The number of registered sites has increased by 2.7 times, of entrepreneurs - by 30.6 percent, including of entrepreneurs with foreign capital - by 4.8 percent compared to the same period last year," Mammadov said.

Mammadov noted that the 57.5 percent of subjects of entrepreneurs registered in the first quarter accounted for the regions.

"Azerbaijan began electronic registration of individuals in the middle of last year, and for legal entities from the beginning of the year. More than 11,000 entrepreneurs have passed registration in an e-form," Mammadov said.

It is 60 percent of the total registration, Mammadov added. "The ministry has completed the work associated with the payment of taxes and fees by payment card through the Internet," Mammadov said.
