Indian firms can take part in the construction of fertilizer plants in the territory of Azerbaijan and in the region, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Jyotiraditya Scindia told reporters on Monday.

"India has vast experience in this area, and can share it," said Scindia, who is attending the second meeting of the Azerbaijani-Indian intergovernmental commission on trade, economic, scientific and technological cooperation held in Baku.

He said that to meet the needs of these plants the Azerbaijani gas can be used.

"One of the strategic directions of cooperation between the countries is the oil and gas sector. In particular, India can use Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline and other pipelines," said Scindia.

In addition, he said, promising areas of development of bilateral relations are spheres of education, information technology, pharmaceuticals and tourism.
