Azerbaijan ups investing abroad

Azerbaijan has recently invested $6 billion in foreign countries, Economic Development Minister Shahin Mustafayev said in an interview with official press today.

"The accelerated rate of Azerbaijan's economic development has enhanced its financial potential and created favorable conditions for investment in foreign countries," the minister said. "Azerbaijan has become a country exporting investment."

Visits to the Balkans and North Caucasus were organized to examine investment opportunities in 2011, Mustafayev said. Ties were established during the visits to enhance domestic companies' opportunities to expand their activities.
