Azerbaijan needs to reduce dependency on imported goods

With the development of domestic production in Azerbaijan share of customs payments in budget income will reduce, head of the State Customs Committee Aydin Aliyev told Trend on Friday.

"It is important for the country to reduce dependency on imported goods and increase domestic production. Low share of customs payments in budget income reflects high rate of domestic production," Mr Aliyev said.

He said for example in the U.S. share of customs payments in budget income is less than 1 per cent.

Share of customs payments in the income of budget of Azerbaijan was 9.66 per cent in 2010, 7.27 per cent - 2011, and will be 7.3 per cent in 2012 taking into consideration forecast.
